Casablanca shore excursion
- - Casablanca, the mythical city from the 1942 film "Casablanca" is nowdays still a jewel of colonial architecture. Details are still in evidence everywhere in the city centre : in the wrought ironwork and in the arabesque twirls adorning the buildings.
On arrival at Casablanca port, meet and assist by your professional tour escort and private transfer to the city centre with its colonial and Art Deco buildings, Central Market, manicured avenues and verdant gardens. We will first visit the colossal Hassan II Mosque, Casablanca's landmark building. It is the largest mosque and can house up to 25.000 worshippers. Its minaret is the tallest religious structure in the world.
Continue on to the seaside resort of Ain Diab Corniche, where you will enjoy free time to walk down the promenade lined with restaurants, cafes and swimming pools and admire the oceanfront scenery, before continuing to the Anfa residential district where Roosevelt and Churchill met during WW II.
Afterwards, we will proceed to the new medina Habous quarter with its Royal Palace and famous Mahkama, a masterpiece of Hispano-Moorish architecture.
We will be crossing the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Lourdes, lit by vast stained glass windows and the Mohamed V Square with its central fountain and well-tended gardens on our way back to the port.
