Rabat, Modern Capital and Historic City
- - We leave de city port of Casablanca, the economic capital and industrial hub of Morocco and will drive to Rabat via the main highway linking these two major cities. Upon arrival, we will visit the imperial capital s cultural highlights : the 12th. century Hassan Tower, an excellent example of the gorgeous Mauresque style, the nearby mausoleum dedicated to Mohamed V, the founder of modern Morocco and the Archaoelogical Museum housing the most extensive collection of archaeological artifacts found in Morocco. It contains prehistoric and Roman civilisation relics and notable Hellenistic-style bronzes such as the Dog of Volubilis and the Head of a Young Berber.
We will also visit the Oudaya Kasbah with its stunning Andalusian gardens created in the beginning of the 19th. century. Plantations rise in terraces with exquisite lemon trees, cypress and daturas. It s a real heaven for garden lovers.
